About Brian K. Clause
Brian K. Clause is an engineer, technology developer, and founder of Clause Technology, LLC, where he is leading the commercialization of DriveStick®, a joystick-based driving control developed for electric vehicles. A Rutgers-trained electrical engineer, Brian has spent more than three decades designing and leading the development of sophisticated electronic systems. His experience spans system architecture, mechanical and electrical integration, software, security, project planning, and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Before founding Clause Technology, Brian spent twenty years with L-3 Technologies, previously L-3 Communications, where he served in senior technical roles on major secure communications programs. His work included systems for space-based infrared satellites, naval aircraft, U.S. Air Force aircraft, ground communications, cryptographic systems, and other demanding applications. Earlier in his career, he worked within organizations that became part of GE Aerospace, Martin Marietta, and Lockheed Martin, developing secure communications technology for government and aerospace applications. Across these assignments, Brian's role extended beyond engineering design to turning complex requirements into systems that could be built, tested, verified, and placed into operation.
Today, Brian is applying that experience to a very different engineering challenge: rethinking the way a driver controls a vehicle. DriveStick® brings together electronic control, human-machine interaction, and drive-by-wire concepts in a technology designed for the evolving electric-vehicle environment. Clause Technology is exploring opportunities to advance the technology through licensing, development, strategic partnership, and commercialization.
